The NMI Awards took place last Thursday and, as per last year, the NMI asked all those hirsute attendees raising funds for Movember to get on stage. This year, however, there was a sponsor… namely, us.
For those not aware, Movember seeks to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer and does this by encouraging people to grow moustaches through the month of November.
Armed with a small, comedy trophy, a promise of payment, and a very helpful judge (ARM’s VP of corporate HR services, Kirsty Gill) we assembled 15 men on stage for judging.
The award went to Dialog’s Andy Repton, who created a fantastic Lemmy replica moustache. We also upped the ante by asking Derek Boyd, CEO of NMI and proud moustache owner to shave his off, in exchange we would raise the donation.
And we’re delighted that he did. The two winners (Andy and Derek) can be seen below.
