Blu Wireless has moved offices. Its base for the last four years – the tech incubation hub that remains Brunel’s Engine Shed – was too small to house the growing team. All departments have now moved half a mile down the road into another equally iconic Bristol landmark.
The Evening Post building was the home of the eponymous local Bristol paper. Imposing and fortress-like, it was purpose-built for a Bristol-owned firm by a Bristol architect to house this now rather sadly diminished news agency. The building won high praise when it opened in 1974 for its solid elegance, which was said to capture the architectural aesthetic of the time. It remains relevant and modern-looking today, and it is huge. Blu is now housed on the fifth floor, which provides fine views across this increasingly smart city.
Blu Wireless CMO Mark Barrett said, “This move was necessary in order to find additional space to house our expanding team and is another step forward in our company growth.”
As Blu Wireless works to develop the wireless networks of the future and develop the standards of 5G we hope this building will continue to generate news.
